The Casa da Cultura in Silves was built at the end of 1914 to showcase the spledor of the Islamic and Mediterranean influences that form the cultural identity of the city of Silves and the region. It was constructed using ancient building techniques.
Today the House of Islamic and Mediterranean Culture promotes cultural initiatives, such as conferences, exhibitions, debates, reading, lessons or small lectures. The main room of the building has the capacity to hold 130 people in a banquet style while there are also three parallel halls, each able to hold between 20 and 100 people. This intimate space also boasts two courtyard areas with the potential to be able to serve coffee breaks, lunches or host small cocktail parties.
Housed in the old municipal market of Vila Real de Santo António, in the Algarve, the António Aleixo Cultural Centre is the centre of the city’s cultural life and the scene of countless exhibitions, shows and other events.
It owes its name to António Aleixo, one of the greatest poets of the country, born in this town. The building original function, with its typical architecture of Moorish inspiration, was of military quarters for the troops stationed on the new border village. It was later transformed into vegetable market, it is now a multiuse space, with a large auditorium which allows the organization of various activities, such as shows, temporary exhibitions, seminars, conferences or congresses.
This 15th century fortress rises at the top of Sagres Point was later severely damaged by English pirate Francis Drake and by 1755 earthquake. Even though current restoration works have changed the character of the remaining former fortress, there are still features that preserve the spirit of the past.
The Fortress stands out for its grandeur and presents a unique backdrop and a venue for corporate meetings and events. This venue offers different facilities like a multimedia room, with capacity for 100 people, and a restaurant lounge, which hosts 40 persons.
Declared a national monument in 1910, the Castle of Silves is one of the finest monuments in Portugal, and more importantly, the best preserved castle in the Algarve. The castle was built by the Almoravid Arabs in the 11th Century and reflect of the splendour of the Moors in the Algarve. It sits on top of a hill, surrounded by outer walls and eleven turrets. With a fully renovated 2.000m2 space, this magnificent castle provides a venue for various types of events as well as sit down dinners for up to 800 people.
This Carmelite convent dates back from the first half of the 18th century. Its most emblematic features are the cloister, the observation tower, with patella windows, the chapel, whose altar has an image of St. Joseph, the cloister, in the center of which is an octagonal cistern. After the renovation works during the late 80's of the twentieth century, the convent has become one of the centres of the cultural activities in Lagoa, as well as a venue with a capacity of 130 people for various events, such as conferences, seminars and exhibitions.
The Fontes at Estombar is situated within an 18ha national park surrounding a major spring situated on the left bank of the estuary of the Arade River, north of the town of Estômbar, in Lagoa Municipality. It is an important ecosystem site reserved for those interested in nature. Use of the area began as a picnic site, overlooking the Arade River as it passes from Silves Municipality down to the Atlantic.
Thousands of people flock to this stream of the Arade River each year to enjoy nature and use available equipment such as the Nature Interpretation Center, rails or picnic area. One of the main attractions at the Estombar Fontes is the unique outdoor auditorium which has the capacity to hold 300 people. Further, the area offers many facilities suitable for concerts, festivals, teambuilding and many other outdoor events.
Faro Municipal Museum is the second oldest museum in the Algarve. The Cloisters of the Faro Municipal Museum, formerly an old convent dating back to the 16th Century, has the capacity to host 120 people. The refined and friendly atmosphere is a guarantee for an excellent event backdrop. You can also hold cocktail parties and welcome drinks events for around 50 people just next door, at the Galeria do Arco.
The reconstructed ruins of an old Franciscan monastery, donated by the Queen of Portugal, are home of the Commercial Association of Porto. The old cloisters were transformed into a magnificent blazons hall that leads to an imposing granite staircase that welcomes you into the Stock Exchange Palace. It exemplifies and reflects the grandor and wealth of this association. The center feature of the Palace is the Arab Room with an astonishing neo-Moorish finishing. If you look to organise an event with an exquisite character of opulence and luxury, you should look no further.
The Serralves Foundation is one of Portugal's leading cultural institutions. It has been classified as a National Monument since December 6, 2012, and listed as a Building of Public Interest since 1996. This remarkable architectural and landscape heritage site, built in the 30s, with its gardens designed by Jacques Greber, is the home of The Museum of Contemporary Art, designed by Álvaro Siza and Serralves Villa, a unique example of Art Deco. The Foundation is Porto's unique venue with a prime location in one of Porto's most distinguished areas and with good access from the historic centre and the main roads. The combination of contemprary architecture, culture and nature, as well as the numerous venue options - from the different spaces within the Museum, the villa, to the 18ha park - make it possible to organise events of largely different sizes and themes.
Designed by the Dutch architect Rem Koolhaas, Casa da Música is a masterpiece of worldwide acclaim. First built for the event “Porto Culture European Capital” held in 2001, it is the first building in Portugal entirely dedicated to the art of Music. Its contemporary architecture attracts visitors from around the world.
It houses the cultural institution Fundação Casa da Música, and three orchestras: Porto National Orchestra, Baroque Orchestra and Remix Ensemble. The institution also plays an important role in education, promoting concerts, workshops and various activities for families with children and schools. Daily there are guided tours to the building, which has several bars and a restaurant located on the rooftop, with a magnificent view over the city.
Mosteiro São Bento da Vitória, founded in the late 16th century and located in the heart of Porto’s historical centre, is one of the city’s most important religious buildings. Between 1985 and 1990, the Monastery was under renovation, maintaining the original design of several features, to house the National Porto Orchestra during the event Porto 2001 – European Capital of Culture.
It is of great cultural imprtance for the city and an excellent venue for the organization of theatre performances, concerts and customised events.
The history of Quinta da Boeira dates back to the year 1850, the construction date of the Mansion that is kept in perfect conditon, from its worked ceilings and the tiles, to the 3 hectares of gardens. It is situated in the heart of Gaia, close to the Teixeira Lopes Museum, it´s a natural park with 100-years-old trees and extensive gardens.
In 1920, the estate was acquired by the owner of a Port wine company, who transformed the place into a green paradise. The Quinta remained in the same family until 1999, when the property was acquired by a new company: Quinta da Boeira – Arte e Cultura. As part of the city's heritage, it's essential features were preserved while renovations allowed for welcoming of visitors.
It creates an original environment for your event - corporate, cultural or leisure. The Palace, whose construction dates back to early last century, has been restored respecting its original architecture and converted into a Restaurant. Inside meeting rooms, offices to provide services to institutions and art exhibitions. Quinta da Boeira also has an Auditorium with capacity for 150 people, and a Hall with a view over the the gardens, seating up to 220 people.
The National Palace of Pena was king D. Fernando II's private residence, who transformed it into a fairy-tale castle.... It sits on top the Sintra hills overlooking magnificent landscapes of the surrounding hills and the Atlantic Ocean. As a result of the creative inspiration of Ferdinand II of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha, king consort and husband of Queen Maria II, the Park and Palace of Pena are Portugal’s greatest example of nineteenth-century Romanticism and the most important element in the Cultural Landscape of Sintra - World Heritage Site.
Some of the Palace's venues offer the option of private dinner events, recreating the atmosphere of royal dinning and festivities - the welcoming sound of trumpets, rich gastronomy and wines, surprise reveals, night visit to the palace, and the royal jester's jokes...
The cooperative winery at Colares (Adega Regional de Colares) was founded in 1931. It has a 50% share of the total production and palys an imprtant social role in the region. Its beautiful building dates back to the late of 19th century, with an imposing interior housing wooden barrels, casks and vats totalling more than 1 million litres capacity.
The Colares Wine Cellar, with a fabulous heritage, based on the quality and geniality of its wines, presents the opportunity to organise exclusive events, with a unique ambiance. The venues size and facilities provide for a vast choice and versatility of events of different sizes and themes.
It’s in the year 1846 that a threads and fabrics Company called “Companhia de Fiação e Tecidos Lisbonense”, one of the most important manufacturing complex in Lisbon’s history, sets in Alcântara. This 23.000 m2 industrial site was, subsequently, occupied by a set of industrial use related companies.
An urban fragment, kept hidden for years, is now returned to the city in the form of LXFactory. A creative island occupied by corporations and professionals of the industry serves also has stage for a diverse set of happenings related to fashion, publicity, communication, fine arts, architecture, music, etc., attracting numerous visitors to rediscover Alcântara through an engaged dynamics.

Village Underground (VU) is an international platform that has existed in London since 2007 and arrived in Lisbon in 2014. It is part of Transeurope Halles, a European network comprising more than 50 independent cultural spaces, with a head office in Sweden. The Village Underground concept incorporates two distinct spaces: a working area for the creative community and a multicultural space. The project is based on the renovation of unused equipment and locations, to be reshaped and brought to life.
In Lisbon the area consists of 14 shipping containers transformed into office space, and a conference room and café made from renovated double decker buses from transporte company Carris. The work spaces are designed to host professionals from creative industries, amongst others. In London, the partner project is made from underground train carriages hoisted up to the roof of a building in East London.
Rent is calculated per work station: one table per person per month at a rate of 150€ including power and cleaning. Each container holds five tables occupied by different projects/artists. These spaces may be leased by the hour or week for specific projects or those who are just passing by and require a temporary workplace in Lisbon in an inspiring setting.
Village Underground Lisboa is a multiuse space serving as a stage for concerts, or hosting exhibitions, theater shows, or conferences, some of which are co-productions with Village Underground London. It also serves as a platform for promoting artists gravitating between VU Lisboa and London. It is also an events space which can be leased to a range of other entities or projects.
Built in the 16th century, the first owner was D. Tristão da Cunha, nobleman of the trust of D. Manuel and D. João III, kings of Portugal. Object of deep intervention, in the first half of the 18th century, this property resisted the earthquake of 1755. Classified as Property of Public Interest, some rooms appear to have a great apparatus: the tile 'azulejo' heritage from 17th and 18th centuries in one of the rooms; the entrance hall with paneled ceilings and oil portraits of some owners, and frescoes and paintings that decorate various rooms.
Since 2013, this space has been receiving spectacular and important events such as weddings, business dinners, etc.
The Convent of Our Lady of Mount Carmel is a former-Roman Catholic convent located in the heart of Lisbon. The convent was founded in 1389 by one of the greatest Portuguese Generals (Nuno Álvares Pereira) from the small Carmelite convent situated on lands acquired from his sister Beatriz Pereira and the admiral Pessanha. The medieval convent was ruined during the sequence of the 1755 Lisbon earthquake, and the destroyed Gothic Church of Our Lady of Mount Carmel on the southern facade of the convent is the main trace of the great earthquake still visible in the old city.
As a tribute to all the victims of the earthquake the King decided to leave this building out of the restoration plans of the city. Because of that its ruins are now one of the most surprising and magnificent settings for any type of event.
The history of Convento do Beato dates back to the 15th century, when Queen D. Isabel was given authorisation to construct a hospice in the chapel of S. Bento for the congregation of the “frades azuis”, the “blue monks” as they were known. Before she was able to fulfil her wish, Queen D. Isabel died, leaving 8,000 gold crowns in her will for building the hospice. In the 16th century, Frei António da Conceição set the construction of the monastery in motion. The story goes that with just seven “tostões” (small coins like farthings) which he had received in alms, he managed to get the building of the magnificent monastery underway. The reputation of this miraculous building increased and in 1602 the people made him into a saint (he was only recognised as such by the church in the 18th century), and they began to refer to him as Beato António (António the Beatified) and his magnificent creation as the Convento do Beato.
After the expulsion of the monks in 1834 it became a hospital and a cookie and pasta factory. Nowadays the simple magnificence of the austere straight lines turned this space into one of the most magnificent spaces for events in Lisbon.
Recognised over the years for its magnificent construction, in 1984 Convento do Beato was classified by IPPAR (the Portuguese Institute for Architectural Heritage) as a Heritage Site of Public Interest, and it was used for holding a number of events of a cultural nature. With its excellent location and remarkable facilities, Convento do Beato is an ideal place for organising a wide range of events: congresses, seminars, exhibitions, concerts, weddings, and other social occasions. Only five minutes from the airport and very close to the main railway stations in Lisbon (Santa Apolónia and Oriente), Convento do Beato is located in a historic part of Lisbon, rich in tradition and culture, close to the Rio Tejo.
The Foz Palace dates back to the 18th century but because its construction lasted more than a century the palace now offers an interesting variety of architectural styles in a mixture of Italian revivalism and 18th century baroque. Located in one of the main squares of Lisbon - the Restauration square - the elegant painted stucco walls and frescoes transform the simplicity of the straight Italian lines into a friendly and warm atmosphere. Indeed the counts of Castelo Melhor, that inhabited the Palace, tried to create an atmosphere of luxury that you will now be able to experience during your event.
This unique building, built on the ruins of old Fort of St. Anthony, is situated on the Estoril Coast, one of the most astonishing, charming and cosmopolitan places of Portugal. The Water Museum gathers a number of monuments and buildings, built between the 18th and 19th centuries, which are representative of an important chapter in history of the water supply to the city of Lisbon. Built by the final reservoir of the Alviela Aqueduct, this station was in service between 1880 and 1928 and was responsible for the expansion of domestic distribution of water in Lisbon. The building preserves the old steam machines, references of the industrial heritage, and hosts the permanent exhibition of the Water Museum that invites the visitor to get to know the water in the areas of history, science, technology and sustainability. Classified, since 2010, as a Public Interest Set.
The Barbadinhos Steam Pumping Station operated from 1880 to 1928. It currently has the former steam machines and respective pumps, wealthy testimonies of industrial archaeology. The building houses the Water Museum’s permanent collection, EPAL’s Historical Archive and a multi-purpose room where it is possible to host events, temporary exhibitions or conferences.
In a peaceful setting, with a background full of history, you will enjoy a discreet and efficient organization, satisfying all the requirements. The Temporary Exhibition Hall, with an area of 400 m2, has a capacity for 500 people for events with standing catering, and the capacity of 220 seats, with area for entertainment. The Water Museum - Barbadinhos Steam Pumping Station, offers also the possibility to realize your event in the engine room, with an area of 100 m2 and a capacity of 100 people, or 60 seated people.
The Palace of the count of Óbidos, in Lisbon, is a remarkable historic space with stunning views of the Tagus River. The unique Coach Museum of Lisbon is located in the historical neighbourhood of Belém. One of the last queens of Portugal gathered one of the largest collections in the world of coaches and carriages in the former stables of this 18th century palace.
The new Coach Museum building comprises a main hall with a suspended nave and an annex, which is connected by an overpass, enabling circulation from one building to the other. This layout creates a gantry like structure directed towards an internal square. The new museum encompasses premises for the permanent and temporary exhibitions, reception halls, and a workshop for conservation and restoration, a contribution towards the development of conservation and restoration activities of this unique legacy.
New spaces have been provided for the Library and the Archive, as well as an Auditorium, which will allow for the organization of a number of cultural activities that will greatly improve the scope of the public programs offered by the museum.

The Jerónimos Monastery or Hieronymites Monastery is a former monastery of the Order of Saint Jerome near the Tagus river. In 1501 the new King of Portugal Manuel I ordered the construction of a new pantheon on the waterfront honoring the arrival of Vasco da Gama to India in 1498 using a style of architecture that cannot be found elsewhere in the world: the Manueline. The monastery is one of the most prominent examples of the Portuguese Late Gothic Manueline style of architecture in Lisbon.
The combination of religious motifs, nautical symbols and tombs of historical characters such as Vasco da Gama or Fernando Pessoa transformed the Monastery into one of the most astonishing pieces of architecture in Europe. In its cloisters, considered by many the most beautiful in the world, you will find now one amazing dining room.
It was classified a UNESCO World Heritage Site, along with the nearby Tower of Belém, in 1983.
Restaurant Kais is housed in a late XIX century old warehouse, by the riverside, which was used to genarate energy for Portuguese trams that still work in our days. The warehouse was fully recovered and is now one of the most beautiful restaurants you will ever see.
The actual design and decoration was concieved with much honour, by a very famous Portuguese interior decorator, Maria José Salavisa, who respected the industrial roots of the warehouse and preserved the original iron structure and the details of the ancient work-shop.
The Monastery of Alcobaça was one of the first Cistercian foundations in Portugal. It became the main centre of this religious order, as a result of a continuous policy of royal protection. The Monastery’s extant medieval structures are unique in the world. Besides, its later additions, dating from the 16th through to the 18th centuries, bear an important testimony to the evolution of Portuguese architecture.
With a capacity of up to 800 people, the Monastery of Alcobaça is the ideal venue for the organization of various events, including: gala lunches and dinners , receptions, conferences, music/reading events, large concerts in the church’s central nave, book launches, ceremonies, cultural activities, exhibitions, shows and promotional events.
The Ducal Palace of the Bragança in Guimarães was ordered built in the 15th Century by Afonso who was the 1st Duke of the House of Bragança and the 8th Count of Barcelos. The Palace was only inhabited permanently during the 15th Century and and was abandoned later. The remains were was later restored in the 19th century and used as military barracks and fully rebuilt in the 20th century.
The Ducal Palace of the Bragança was classified as a National Monument in 1910 - even before its reconstruction. Inside there is a Museum (1st floor), a wing for the Presidency of the Republic (main facade, 2nd floor) and a vast area dedicated to several cultural initiatives (on the ground floor).
There are also a number of spaces that may be used to hold different types of events, such as: receptions, cocktails, concerts, meetings, conferences, seminars, etc.
