Horse Riding

Horse Riding in Alentejo

The Alentejo Coast is an ideal destination for riding Lusitano horses while staying at typical and comfortable accommodations. If you want to discover another side of Portugal, with a cultural, social and environmental heritage then this is the ideal place. Here you can ride in the untouched country side of Serra de Grândola with a view over the Atlantic Ocean.

Costa Azul, also known as the Blue Coast, is the southern stretch of Portugal’s west coast and is as long and beautiful as the Algarve. However, here you do not have to worry about running into lots of tourists because you can easily find quiet beautiful beaches. Ride along old paths through the untouched landscape of southwest Portugal, through vast valleys where the famous cork trees have grown for centuries to the Atlantic shore with rocks and dunes, which are an invitation for a refreshing canter.

All horses are easy to ride and laid back. You do not need to be the world's greatest rider to come on this adventure and if you are, you will have the opportunities for fast looping rides. The rides go in a different direction each day, and can be adapted to your skill level. You can unpack and relax, knowing that you return to the same place each night and even take a day rest if you feel like it.

This program is designed as week-long but we offer a shorter option ideal for a long weekend. See below for details.
