Horse Riding

Day 1

Arrival & Transfer. Lusitano horse introduction

Arrival to Ponta Delgada and transfer to Quinta da Terça. After check-in and in case your arrival is scheduled to the morning time, you are free to explore the area or rest after the trip. You will have the opportunity to learn more about the Lusitano Horse breed. Enjoy the beautiful sunset before the delicious dinner that will be served in the Quinta.

Day 2

Half Day Ride Ribeirinha

Breakfast. During the morning, you will start your horseriding adventure in São Miguel island: there will be a 1-hour riding lesson in the Picadeiro of the Quinta, so the rider can see how the horses are trained and a chance for the farmer to decide which horses are a good match for you, bearing in mind, among other things, your safety as a rider.
Lunch will be served in the farm or at a local restaurant.
In the afternoon, we will explore Ribeirinha by horse. A ride that offers a bit of everything including fun canters. We start the ride close to the ocean, then up and over the hill Pico da Multa, continuing through the village of Gramas, across two small rivers and we finish close to Ribera Grande. Some of the points of interest of this parish are: Miradouro da Vigia da Baleia, Port of Santa Iria, the church and center of the locality, as well as an interesting route by the sea, in the area of the Chão das Gatas. Back to Quinta das Terças, enjoy a typical dinner in the evening.

Day 3

Relva / Várzea Circuit

Breakfast at the Quinta. Today we will have a full day of riding along the south coast to the village of Varzea. We will admire spectacular nature and beautiful views especially over the ocean. Lunch is served at a restaurant in the village of Feteiras or as a pic-nic.
Várzea is a place integrated in the parish of the Ginetes, Ponta Delgada municipality, island of São Miguel. This village is located at high altitude in the foothills of the Vulcão das Sete Cidades (Volcano of the Seven Cities). It is surrounded by pastures and its main economic activity is agriculture. In this village there is a Christian temple dedicated to the evocation of the Holy Family, the Church of Jesus, Mary and Joseph. Return is scheduled before sunset. Dinner and accommodation in the Quinta.

Day 4

Remédios or Cabuco Ride | Whale Watching

Breakfast in the Quinta.
In the morning you can choose one of the trails available:

• Remédios
  We ride on small roads and over pastures. A large part of the ride is across fields with milking cows. From the green pastures we have nice views over the middle parts of S. Miguel.
• Cabuco
  A charming half day tour which leads up and down winding roads with several nice opportunities for canter. We ride to the top of a field with magnificent view of the north as well as the south coast.

Lunch will be served in Quinta or at a local restaurant near Ponta Delgada. In the afternoon, you can also choose one of the programs available:

• Visit & Shopping in Ponta Delgada
  We will stroll in the historical center of São Miguel's main city. The guide will lead you to strategic spots or if you want to shopping.
• Whale & Dolphin Safari (ticket not included – 55€ per pax/net)
  Get on board of a fun trip that gives you a chance to meet and admire the marine mammals of the Azores in their natural habitat with a mixture of fun, adventure, discovery and scientific knowledge. Duration: 2h30m to 3h. This is subject to weather conditions and logistics.
  A delicious dinner will be served in Quinta before accommodation.

Day 5

Sete Cidades Full Day Circuit

Breakfast. Today we will have an unforgettable day, this is like riding in a fairytale. The ride takes us along the volcano crater rim overlooking the twin lakes on one side and the ocean on the other. The tranquility of the waters and the scent of the Hydrangeas, which border the crater rim, contrast the steep sides of the crater, creating a fascinating sight. Continuing down into the crater to the small and picturesque village of Sete Cidades and the Green and the Blue lakes.
Picnic lunch is included during this full day tour. Back to the Quinta before sunset, dinner and overnight.

Day 6

Full Day Ride across São Miguel t

Breakfast. Starting in the village of Calhetas on the north coast and ending in Livramento. Today we will enjoy everything from lush green valleys, admire splendid sea views and green pastures and ride through charming villages. Picnic lunch in nature. In the afternoon, we will continue the trip - for horse and nature lovers, this is a true paradise. Arrival to the Quinta late afternoon.
Dinner and overnight.

Day 7

Tropical Forest Circuit

Breakfast in the Quinta. The 2-3 hour ride this morning will take you through the amazing Azorean landscape. The ride takes us on old roads, through villages and along fantastic stone walls, through pastures with milking cows up to what almost seems to be a rainforest "jungle".
Lunch at a local restaurant or at Quinta. In the afternoon, free time to enjoy the last day in the Azores and do personal activities and/or shopping. Don't forget your flight is scheduled for tomorrow, so start preparing your luggage. A special goodbye dinner will be served at Quinta.

Day 8

Check out and departure

Breakfast in the Quinta followed by check-out. Depending on your flight schedule, we will arrange a transfer to Ponta Delgada airport.
